the fringe element doesn't like fringe hmmm go figure In the movie dogtown, it bugged me that the character Jay Adams basically shined on that slinky commercial because that would have changed his mother's and his lives for the better but he thought it was uncool and kind of sell outish. I mean if that did happen I bet he still or was (as he's dead now I think) kicking himself for not taking the money and looking stupid for a day cause ten k back then was a lot of money. You could buy three new cars with that. Ya man if you get good opportunities to improve your life definitely consider it. I bet if he had asked any of those dudes he hung with about it they would've ya take the friggin money buy a house so your mom aint working crappy jobs as much. I mean the money would have changed their lives and he was just being a selfish typical kid and that bugs me when kids do that, I mean does that bother anyone else when kids do that, I mean make stupid decisions that reflect on them the rest of their lives? Because that one decision played the biggest factor to Jay going down hill and not in a good way. Thanks Joe for doing this interview

    4. pdxeddie1111

    7. ryry50001

He needs to have Rodney mullen on the podcast so he can explain where tech Street skating came from

    8. S T

Joe seems to know about a lot of things, skateboarding is not one of them

    9. Ryan Haines

Awesome podcast, Tony Hawk and Joe Rogan two of the biggest names in their fields.

    10. Kevin o'doherty

Tony didn't want to mention names but...Duane Peters and Tas Papas come to mind in both references...

    11. SilverBackShredder

He needs to have Danny way on the pod cast to talk about the great wall, mega ramp, and his cross training and general stories.

    12. Devon Faulks

      Get rob dyrdek on

    13. Jordan Gallo

love seeing action sport icons on your podcast, next up Scotty Cranmer? Bmx would benefit hugely from this type of platform.

    14. OG Jesse P

So Tony Hawk and Steve Irwin are the best people to grace this planet in my lifetime

    15. Silver Legion

Would be awesome to see Tony get in good shape. After he's got to go confront his bullies from the 80s - look out Duane Peters!

    17. keef scott

Joe Rogan interviewing Tony Hawk about skateboarding is like Steven A Smith trying to interview Joe Rogan about MMA 😂😂

    18. Miguel Castillo

And even if you don't make a living off of doing what you love it doesn't mean that you have to stop doing it. Figure it out and have fun.

    19. VisioPhobia

Me getting excited every time Tony mentions the ‘Video Games’ for an awesome chat about THPS - Joe quickly dismisses it and moved on clearly unaware of the generation-defining phenomenon those games and soundtracks were.

    20. tabaconumacapadoSaramago

      Jorge Jesus, is that you?

    21. Damon Peirce

Would love Joe to get Pharrell Williams on the Podcast.

    24. John O'Neill

Dang. Joe's podcast going to Spotify. I wonder how many will cross over? I won’t. I will only see him if the old ones remain on IDsel or if a random account holder uploads the Spotify episodes to IDsel.

      1. Roland Deschain

Yeah I’m not buying Spotify just for this

    25. donatas varnas

When he was talking about pro at 14 he got bit confused what pro is :D in the next sentence he said no one offered him contracts nor he had. the only thing that tick box meant if he had sponsors.

    36. putmerda

It might look like San Diego is healthy, doing good and home of Top Gun and the seals and all that bullshit, etc.,but that is just a tiny part, while at the border and in TJ there are much worse effects happening, this will spread unstopped to San Diego and LA because so many people from Baja cross and work every single day

    37. Ctyler93

51:28 haha no man it’s from all the g forces cornering a race car lol

    38. Ctyler93

Travis Pastrana on JRE anyone?? ☝️

    39. Steve Snider

Not a particular fan of skateboarding but I really enjoyed this interview. Tony definitely has an interesting life story. And when they were reminiscing about the 80s and 90s I had some correlating memories of my own. I had some friends that were really good at skateboarding but I never took to it. Dirt bikes became my thing and man do I ever have a lot of great memories dirt biking in the 90s!

    40. Misfit Drummer

please invite Travis Pastrana on :) he and Joe could just talk injuries alone haha

    41. Lost Dutchman Leather

Joe "do you read the comments??" Rogan

    42. Zach Holt

Get Rodney Mullen next, or maybe Matt Hoffman that would be sick. Matt Hoffman invented nearly everything for freestyle bmx. Obviously hes known for his big air, but he revolutionized the street discipline as well.

    43. DonLincoln TheDemon stay woke

    44. Captain Dethwish

Big money idea : Tony Hawk testosterone commercial. I don’t skate like I use to? At this age I am definitely having trouble with endurance.

    45. Hellraiser Pinhead

Tony hawk is a cool dude. Very honest and just does what he loves. Have to respect that.

    46. bardyl08

Get Rodney Mullen on next, interesting guy.

    47. Jesse Lauch

“Like it was never going to end” - 33 years later he’s still killing it

    48. Jarthen Greenmeadow

Joe not having a skateboard and telling him to kickflip on the table is an opportunity missed.

    49. Obsidian Monolith

I want to see Tony Hawk and Joe Rogan smoke a blunt

    50. Chase Hildebrand

Tony Hawk is one of those wholesome humans that must be protected at all costs.

    65. Phil

The fact this man has made $140m riding a skate board is awesome. I love this country.

    66. Cardboard Recycling

Tony "I almost drowned surfing in Hawaii after wiping out on a 20 ft wave and getting caught in the under-toe....Joe "oh yeh, WELL... my buddy set the temp on his sauna to 250º " AWESOME ! LOVE U JOE

      1. KimJongGoosby

Lol it’s the same guy. Laird Hamilton took Tony out which is why he mention the sauna. Just another example he gave of how extreme laird was.

    67. Chris Maki

Tony Hawk is the love child of tony hingecliff and ellen degeneres

      1. Roland Deschain

        Bit harsh

    68. philip hawker

i love how tony hawk is 52 and genuinely talks in the cliche, so cal, grungy surfer/skater guy tone. like "get pitted brah. gnarly this gnarly that brah. totally sick brah". it's like he coined it. i love it

    69. Christian Melendez

Joe pandering to his guests again. Tony obeying pandemic rules and Joe says nothing. When his right wing buddies are on he is all gung-ho about when they say I’m not wearing a mask its in the 215th amendment that says I don’t have to wear one!

    70. Sean K.

      Nice Richard Pryor shirt joe!

    71. Midlands Mayhem

Tony Hawk really doesn't give himself enough credit for reigniting skateboarding in the 90s, most British kids had never heard of x games but soon as Tony hawks skateboarding came out for the ps1, boom everyone skated

      1. Midlands Mayhem

Also matt Hoffman for the bmx scene

    72. PG Jordaan

The coolest thing I ever saw was at 32 minutes in, when Tony Hawk took a moment to brag how cool his brother is and how proud he is of him.

    73. Lou Rivera

Who remembers officer Dick from the video game?

    74. Patrick Ryan

Man if I wasn't 10 minutes late to my local skatepark I could of met him

    75. Perrie Facts

Joe doesn't know any other skateboarder? Ryan Sheckler? Rob Dyrdek?

    76. anthony cope

Rogan: is there a problem with CTE Hawk: I don't really know Me: MIRRA!!!! Not sure anyone ever looked into him that deep but he would be candidate number 1 to have been checked many of these guys are just getting into that late 40's early 50's when these long term things start to manifest

    77. MouseK801

3:09 Joe is channeling my mom right there.

    78. John P

You guys live in Comiefornia. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. The light at the end of the tunnel is a freight train heading your way.

    79. djsjjd15

I'm a long-time fan of Joe and I started skating in the late 80s, so Tony Hawk is a hero since I was 12. Sadly, this is one of Joe's more boring podcasts, which is evidenced by the short run time - usually Joe goes much longer with a guest. Goes to show that Joe should maybe take 30 minutes to prepare for a guest because his unfamiliarity ruined this podcast. Half of this show was Joe playing personal trainer/supplement salesman. If Joe is going to be Spotify's $100 million man and do this for another 10 years, he's going to need to learn to connect with guests outside of his wheelhouse and that starts with preparation. You can't wing everything.

    80. brandon sanders

i used to skate with a marine who taught me how to fall into a roll kinda like you see the military do. saved my ass a ton and bumped that adrenaline up a bit more
